A NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Spring is here, and the work has begun.  We were glad to see everyone at the RV Rally, old and new, alike, and enjoyed visiting & catching up.

We have enjoyed sharing ministry everywhere we have been, and are looking forward to seeing all of you sometime this year.

We need to continue to PRAY for each other, for improved health, and strength to do the work of the Lord.  If you have someone who needs to be on the Prayer List, let Dee Ann Crangle know, so she can put it on the web site.    MyronNDee@aol.com

Keep smiling and supporting each other.  God has called you to build His Kingdom.  Thanks for answering the call.                    Thanks, Don Winship

A NOTE FROM OUR TREASURER

I want to thank each of you for the 2008 dues you have paid in support of the RVA.  Your dues help us pay for supplies and needs that are incurred, and recently helped finance the RVA Rally.  Your interest and your participation are greatly appreciated.

We have already started our 2008 schedule, and have completed the work at Woodland Hills Campground, St. Clair, Mo.  There is now a crew at Blue Water Campground, Lexington, Mi., and soon will be a crew at Nauvoo, Illinois.  Never think there are  enough to make a complete crew.  We can use you anytime and any place.  “Many hands make light work.”  We have seen many beautiful campgrounds in our travels, and also have met wonderful Saints all over the USA.  We need you – and that special ministry that is unique to you.

May God continue to bless your health, your witness, and your support of the RVA.

                        Thanks, Myron Crangle

‘WE THRUST IN OUR SICKLE’

Scripture: John 4:34-38, “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing His work… Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.  What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike!  You know the saying, ‘one plants and another harvests.’ And it’s true.  I sent you to harvest where you didn’t plant; others had already done the work, and now you will get to gather the harvest.”

 “AND HARVEST WE DID!”

April 17 – 20, RVA RALLY at the Campus RV Park, Independence, MO.   A wonderful time was had by all!  Twenty-seven members were in

attendance from five states.  The meals were great!  Two evening meals were catered & one was a chili dump at the Fears’ home.  Breakfasts were Texas pancakes & sausage, and donuts.  The fellowship was terrific! Most attendees took advantage of the opportunity to visit area attractions.  Some sites visited were the Moon Marble Factory in Bonner Springs, KS, Steamboat Arabia in Kansas City, & others.  Cold weather slowed down the outdoor activities.  Everyone met in the Chapel at the Temple, where President Steve Veazey shared his testimony and life experiences with us.  This opportunity was very uplifting.  The Rally evaluations showed 100% interest in another Rally, so plans are already in the works for spring of 2009.

April 21–May 2, Camp Woodland Hills, St. Clair, MO.      Fifteen members & five local participants volunteered 590 hours.  RV sites: old 6x6 timbers were removed & replaced w/large retaining wall landscape blocks; re-leveled each area w/rock & graded each site.  Men’s & women’s bath house: removed old formica & replaced w/new; installed lavatories into newly covered counter tops; replaced some faucets & installed large stone on exterior of two sides of building to keep dirt from washing away.  Set forms for pouring concrete for a new 52’ x 10’ shuffleboard court; poured & finished 7 yards of concrete; removed forms & placed dirt & gravel on all sides.  Lodge: replaced top on serving counter; removed existing door knobs on first floor restrooms & replaced them w/push & pull hardware.

Miscellaneous: dumped rock on roads around camp & graded.

And lifting our eyes, we see

HARVESTING YET TO COME in 2008

Let us be about our Father’s business.

If EVERY member comes to at least ONE project, WOW what a lot we will accomplish!

Someone once said…

“Many folks want to serve God, but only as advisors.”

“It is easier to preach ten sermons than it is to live one.”

“Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than going to a garage makes you a mechanic.”

A New Day

This is the beginning of a new day.  God has given me this day to use as I will.  I can waste it—or use it for good, but what I do today is important, because I am exchanging a day of my life for it!  When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, leaving in its place something that I have traded for it.  I want it to be gain, and not loss; good, and not evil; success, and not failure; in order that I shall not regret the price that I have paid for it.

“The good Lord didn’t create anything without a purpose, but mosquitoes come close.”

“If you look like your passport picture, you probably need the trip.”

“People are funny, they want the front of the bus, the middle of the road, and the back of the church.”

“God Himself does not propose to judge a man until he is dead.  So why should you?”

“To make a long story short, don’t tell it.”

Please send in YOUR experiences with the RVA.

January 6 – April 6, Cecil Alford volunteered 276 hours at Camp Sionito, ditching & running water lines to the trees, kitchen & cabins; planting trees & grass; repairing lawn mowers (changing tires, changing oil, sharpening blades); repairing sink, leveling dirt around sidewalk, running sidewalk from Price Hall to road; moving lumber, building pole barn and repairing sewer leak.  Eileen worked 100 hours

March 25 – April 7, Carlyle & Ann Mitchell of Caledon, Ontario, Canada, swung by Camp Sionito on their way home from Texas.  Carlyle worked 66 hours repairing toilets, laying pipe, repairing chargers, installing wire guards around trees, installing a door, removing steel back stop, and cutting & removing steel pipe near the river.  Ann worked 28 hours cleaning rooms, making new curtains for 5 rooms, laundering & re-hanging curtains & rugs in 16 rooms, thoroughly cleaning washrooms in the RV Bath House, and assisting in the kitchen & dining room.
